For every Australian, Superannuation is one of the most important saving sources that allows them to retire comfortably. According to the Association of Superannuation Funds, the minimum superannuation balance recommended to achieve a comfortable retirement is $640,000 for a couple and $545,000 for a single person.

Here is what Comfortable retirement includes: - Kitchen and Bathroom can be replaced every 20 years - Better quality household items and appliances - Air conditioning - Eating out (restaurant, good food) - Good internet connection - Better quality clothes - Affordable holidays - Top cover health insurance - Maintaining car - Joining leisures and membership activities for elderly For those who need a better lifestyle than the comfortable one, they will need to have further sources of fund.

Everyone will have some sort of superannuation to begin with since they are at young or middle age. However, according to statistics, most people do not have sufficient knowledge regarding superannuation and what they can do inside their superannuation fund to get the most from their current fund. Therefore, people tend to miss important points that may lead to insufficient superannuation balances over the years.
